Year in review: Violence claims at least 20 in Greenville, Pitt County in 2020
The number of homicides and violent deaths nearly tripled in the Greenville city limits in 2020, increasing from five to 13, according to archives and police records. There were at least seven more in the county and towns outside Greenville. The Pitt County Sheriffâs Office investigated five deaths, the Ayden Police Department investigated at least one, and the Farmville Police Department investigated one homicide in 2020, according to reports.
