Medicaid Pharmacy Program News Today

In 2022, Gov. Kathy Hochul relented and gave the green light to expand Medicaid to cover undocumented immigrants 65 and older. The state’s Department of Health launched the program last month after a year-long delay.

Wednesday outside the New York State Capital, advocates and some lawmakers gathered to protest against a policy change to the Medicaid Pharmacy Program. 

In a guest column, the CEO of the Florida Pharmacy Association says the pharmacy benefit managers who run the Medicare prescription program and others must be regulated and their actions made more transparent.

The coalition estimates PBMs are pocketing $133 million in taxpayer dollars.
