More than 3,500 people die from hepatitis viruses every day and the global toll is rising, the World Health Organization warned on Tuesday, calling for swift action to fight the second-largest infectious killer.

The World Health Organization's (WHO) latest HIV Drug Resistance (HIVDR) Report tells us where drug resistance is growing and offers recommendations for countries to monitor and respond to the potential challenges.

Dr Gilada added that if a particular patient is already resistant to dolutegravir, which has a high genetic barrier to developing drug resistance, he/she will be given the same failing regimen for a year, thus exposing his/her sexual contacts to HIV infection and that too with a Dolutegravir resistance strain.

In this webinar, WHO will present and discuss the new edition of the WHO DAK for HIV. The updated second edition aligns indicator calculations with the 2022 Consolidated guidelines on person-centred HIV strategic information and includes additional content on sexually transmitted infections, viral hepatitis, and cervical cancer.
