A press statement issued by the hospital said that the report of his routine blood tests was satisfactory and his ECG was normal Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) president Sourav Ganguly on Thursday was discharged from Woodlands Hospital here. The former Indian cricket captain, who was admitted to the hospital on January 2 after a mild heart attack, said that he was absolutely fine.

The Anna University Teachers’ Association has appealed to the inquiry commission appointed to probe allegations of corruption and malpractice against the University Vice-Chancellor M.K. Surappa to treat university officials with dignity.
The association in a letter to P. Kalaiyarasan, the inquiry authority, said the faculty members felt denigrated by the “humiliating questions” and the charge that the university was not co-operating with the commission and had not submitted records it had sought.

To be held at 1,200 sites across State tomorrow; 25 health staff assigned to each site
The second round of dry run of COVID-19 vaccination programme, which was scheduled to be conducted on January 7 and 8, will now be conducted only on one day Friday, as clarified by senior officials of the Telangana Health department.
Simulation of the vaccination programme would be held at 1,200 sites across the State including teaching hospitals, district hospitals, Primary Health Centres and private hospitals. At each centre, 25 health staff would participate.

TIRUVARUR The birth anniversary of Nethaji Subash Chandra Bose will be celebrated for a year from January 23 by the Nava Hindustan Peoples Movement.
In a press release, the president, NHPM, S.S.Kumar, has said that a resolution in this regard was passed at the general body meeting of the movement held at Tiruvarur on Friday. Another resolution urging the Union government to initiate steps for the construction of temples for “Bharatha Matha” at Kanyakumari and in Kashmir as a symbolic representation of the nation’s integration was also passed at the meeting.
