It all started on Thursday when a bipartisan resolution was introduced into the Rhode Island General Assembly that condemned the Hamas attack on Israel. This week was the first week that legislators had met since the October attack.

Saturday's rally decried Israel's actions in Gaza and called for a halt to US military aid. RI's Jewish Alliance called the protest "disturbing."

A bill that would expand protections for some non-citizens from potential deportation was vetoed by Governor Gavin Newsom. And, a San Diego school sets up an altar for the upcoming Day of the Dead celebrations.

Students at the Language Academy are constructing altars known as Spanish ofrendas to honor loved ones who have died. The project is part of learning about the Day of the Dead holiday.
