Nine Buckeye Stallion Series races highlighted the first night of racing on Tuesday (Aug. 8) from the Champaign County Fairgrounds in Urbana, Ohio with each of the five divisions for two-year-old colt trotters and the four divisions for two-year-old filly pacers carried a purse of $20,000. Dan Noble won four of the nine races, two in each division.

In the richest race of the young season at Pocono Downs at Mohegan Pennsylvania, the $50,000 Bobby Weiss Series Championship for three-year-old pacing colts, second choice I Was Tricked downed the previously-unbeaten All Class and held off a pair of longshots in a lifetime best performance.

All Class and I Was Tricked became two-time winners in the Bobby Weiss Series, taking their respective $20,000 final round preliminaries for the sophomore pacing colts Saturday (April 22) at Pocono.

Millionaire pacer Abuckabett Hanover, who finished fourth in last Saturday’s Breeders Crown Open Pace to Bulldog Hanover, sold for more than half a million dollars on Monday in an online sale.

Northfield Park hosted a total of nine $40,000 divisions of Ohio Sires Stakes (OHSS) for 2-year-old pacing colts and fillies on Saturday night (July 10) at Northfield Park, with multiple national season’s records broken and set. Secret Side Piece began the night with a bang, winning the first OHSS division for fillies in 1:53.3, a national season’s record for driver Mike Wilder.
