Plowed into the kids. They had crossed the street at buchanan and bay streets. Police are out in force on bay street near buchanan handing out speeding tickets to drivers. Many say this stretch is a freeway. Cars going 40 and 50 miles an hour on this 25 miles an hour zone. This morning, this spot the scene of a terrible crash. The woman is led away in handcuffs. She was later charged with dui. She slammed her volkswagen suv into two 12yearold boys crossing bay street on their way to school. What were looking at here is children lawfully in a crosswalk and were struck as they were crossing the street. Police say the impact launched the boys into the air. Their backpacks, clothes and shoes left scattered in the street. Authorities say this box truck was stopped in the right lane to let the boys cross. But the suv driver didnt slow down. Lilian kim is live with new information. Reporter the female paraglider being treated for injury to her face, legs, and back. She was airlifted to stanford after slamming into the hillside. Witness says the woman was on top of a 600foot hill here at jed levin park when the winds pick up, causing her to launch prematurely. She branched right and crashed. Her injuries are serious but not lifethreatening. We have been told she is is a p2 rated pilot and that completed the appropriate training for paragliding. Fellow gliders described what happened. At that point in time she popped up probably about 10, 15, 20 feet in the sky, body kind of swack outwards as the paragliders have a pendulum effect to them, and in doing so wound up getting swung back into the hillside. Reporter dive teams will continue searching the lake until dark tonight and then again tomorrow morning in what has now back recovery mission. Several sales force employees were on a teambuilding exercise when a bunch of employees on a boat ran into trouble. They were all referred to as the last trip. Reporter parks Police Spokesperson says the owner of an aluminum boat that took on water was making the final trip to shore with a group of employees. The boat owner had shuttled multiple groups. The last group may have been over the boats capacity. When the boat began filling with water, seven people swam to shore but 31yearold man didnt make it. The search area right now is the size of a football field. The depth ranges from ten to 50 feet. The botto hardpacked rock, and theyre searching by behind.
