Edmonton could start restricting the sale of knives at convenience and grocery stores as early as this fall, depending on the options city staff present to council’s urban planning committee. 

Edmonton city councillors have agreed to explore ways to stop convenience and corner stores from selling legal knives.

Edmonton police say an investigation that began last November has led them to seize more than 100 weapons being sold from a smoke shop just north of downtown.
