La Jolla cityhood proposal, Point La Jolla, La Casa de los Amigos, Adelante Townhomes, business burglaries, sidewalk vendors and the La Jolla Park Coastal Historic District are some of the issues that made headlines.

The medical examiner's press release says Michael Salour's plane was found on a hillside in La Jolla at 2:08 a.m. on Nov. 16.

Authorities Monday released the name of a private pilot who was killed last week when the light airplane he was flying crashed on a La Jolla hillside during a rainstorm.

Michael Salour, 74, was a physicist and experienced pilot who founded several companies, held 19 patents and had research and faculty positions at institutions including Harvard and MIT, according to his website.

The plane was originally scheduled to land at McClellan Carlsbad Airport but was diverted south due to weather, officials said Monday.
