Spruce up Kings River

Wildflowers are popping and the Sugar Creek chapter of the Ozark Society is hosting "Wildflower Wednesday" walks in April. Anyone interested in wildflowers is welcome. A walk will be held at 10 a.m on Wednesday starting at 2 Buckingham Drive trailhead of the Back 40 trail network in Bella Vista. Cris and Eleanor Jones will lead the walk.

Hikers venture to Kansas

The 2022 NWA Wetland Ecology Tour, hosted annually by the south-central chapter of the Society of Wetland Scientists, will be held Saturday at Wilson Springs Preserve in Fayetteville. There will be hikes led by local experts in botany, ornithology, herpetology, and aquatic ecology.

Northwest Arkansas Audubon Society will host a field trip on Saturday at Kibler bottoms and Frog Bayou Wildlife Management Area along the Arkansas River near Alma. Meet at 8 a.m. in the back parking lot of McDonalds in Alma.

Beaver Watershed Alliance and Hobbs State Park-Conservation Area will host a free snorkeling trip Thursday at Beaver Lake. Mask, snorkel and swim fins are provided. Participants are transported in the parks pontoon boat to a spot on the lake that is good for swimming and seeing fish.

Audubon hosts prairie trip

Fourteen homeowners entered the 2021 Gravette Christmas lighting contest and the home of Anna and Ryan Carr, at 903 Mulberry St. S.W., in the Patriot Park subdivision, was judged the first-place winner. The Carr family received a $100 Visa gift card sponsored by the Bank of Gravette.
