Intermountain Health treated more than 2,700 bicycle-related injuries in its Utah and Idaho emergency departments in 2022

Intermountain Health treated more than 2,700 bicycle-related injuries in its emergency departments in Utah and Idaho in 2022.

In 2022, 15 Utahns died in bicycle accidents and 49 were seriously injured—the deadliest year in Utah for bicycle accidents since the Utah Department of Public Safety started tracking these numbers.

Intermountain Health doctors and parents of a girl who fell from a window are warning parents to only open windows 4 inches or use window locks to prevent such accidents.
