The brainchild of the late Catie Bisson, who saw the need to supply fellow Lowell High School students with basic necessities she and others took for granted, Catie’s Closet has grown exponentially since her mother Anne-Marie Sousa created the clothing nonprofit in her daughter’s memory 13 years ago.

DRACUT — The local nonprofit that provides clothing, shoes, school supplies and hygiene products to more than 90,000 low-income children in Massachusetts and New Hampshire is asking the public for hep after experiencing what they say is an unprecedented increase in special requests that have depleted their urgent response program. 

A charitable organization that supplies essential clothing, shoes, hygiene products and school supplies for children in need is asking for help to fulfill its mission.

When Catie Bisson was a student at Lowell High School, she noticed that many students could not afford the basic necessities that she took for granted — clothing, footwear, hygiene products, toiletries — and that the absence of these essentials served as a barrier to their education.
