Blanton at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. It was written in FORTRAN and used a 6-bit (i.e. all uppercase) character encoding. On the university’s CDC Cyber 175 system, it required 120K (!) 60-bit words of memory to run and had “generally acceptable” response times.
