A new study combining spectroscopic and microscopic analysis has confirmed the constituents and age of a Roman Mosaic Glass Tesserae found in the Morbio Inferiore municipality in the Canton Ticino region in Switzerland. Analysis conducted on shape memory polymeric composites made from industrial substances previously utilized in aerospace enabled the identification of recovering processes at the microscopic level crucial for shape memory capabilities at the macroscopic level.
