This year was no exception. The company announced a number of updates to Teams, gave Microsoft 365 and Azure a lot of attention and plotted its course for the next year as its digital workplace momentum continues. Microsoft recently unveiled its new Mesh product, which it explained as a "new mixed-reality platform" powered by Azure, Microsoft's cloud computing program, allowing people in different physical locations to join and shared holographic experiences.

Mesh is the result of years of Microsoft research and development in areas ranging from hand and eye tracking and HoloLens development to creating persistent holograms and artificial intelligence models.

Microsoft Mesh is a mixed-reality platform that lets users transport themselves as holograms to anywhere in the world. Users can also share augmented reality content with others in the experience.
