The terrible things rescuers saw while conducting rescues of neglected dogs and cats in Topeka and near Louisburg took an emotional toll on them.

TOPEKA (KSNT) - It may take some time for the animals recovered from neglectful homes to go up for adoption, but the good news is things are looking better for the pets with professional treatment.

A police captain said Tuesday the living conditions ranked among “the worst I’ve ever seen in my career.”

ANDOVER, Kan. — Andover is the latest Kansas city to repeal a ban on pit bulls, after the city council voted this week to repeal a decades-old ordinance against the dog breed.
