Perhaps the most exciting discovery at Magdala thus far, however, is the Magdala Stone, which has produced a lot of excitement among the archaeologists working at the site.

In 2009, the remains of the Migdal Synagogue were discovered in ancient Magdala, close to the shore of the Sea of Galilee.

The inside of the first-century AD synagogue at the ancient city of Magdala in Israel — one of only seven synagogues from that era in the country that are extant.
