and we are waiting to hear what their conditions are, and again, if sean o'keefe, the former nasa administrator is among those who are injured. joining us now, former senator from alaska mike gravelle. our sympathies on the loss today. >> you're welcome, it's a sad day i think for alaska and for a lot of americans. >> tell us about the senator ted stevens that you knew? >> obviously, we're of different parties and different ideological views. he certainly was the most effective senator in support of the military and the defense posture. i was one of those who was most critical of that. because of its successes. but certainly he was very
