An Isle of Wight school wants local military veterans to spend time with their students and become great role models for them.

Former Team GB Olympic and England swimmer, Ricky Burrell, will officially start Wessex Cancer Trust’s Swim for Hope event next month (September).

EIGHTY intrepid fundraisers are taking the plunge for Wessex Cancer Trust - in celebration of the charity’s 40th birthday. Today, a team of 40 will be skydiving from 10,000ft at the Isle of Wight’s Sandown Airport, while next month, another 40 will be swimming The Solent, between Hurst Point in Hampshire and Colwell Bay on the Island. WESSEX Cancer Trust is welcoming back clients for face-to-face care, as lockdown measures continue to ease. Clients are now able to attend the charity’s four cancer support centres for pre-booked counselling and befriending appointments.
