WARSAW — Milford native Jessica Camarena, who now lives and works in Warsaw, was awarded a Rising Leader award by Kosciusko Economic Development Corporation at its annual meeting Oct. 4.

Over 350 schools were recognized as the highest-performing schools in the U.S. and awarded Blue Ribbon recognition, including two in Utah.

One is on its school board’s study list for possible closure. The other had been flagged by the state school board for poor performance but worked its way out of “turnaround school” status.

Being selected a National Blue Ribbon School by the U.S. Department of Education is heady stuff.
