How adventurous are you? Ascent Runs continues their Be Bold, Run in the Cold Winter Trail Series with a five or ten kilometer run starting at Centennial Park. If you’d like a less strenuous outdoor activity, then the Downtown Business Association’s monthly Wine Walk is a perfect choice.

It’s wine walk weekend, and depending on what kinds of days off you get, potentially the beginning of a four-day weekend. We will be celebrating the birthday of the United States of America on Tuesday, but there are some fun events to enjoy now. Catch the Parade of Trains at the Nevada State Railroad Museum or the RSVP Carnival at Mills Park.

School is out in Carson City and the summer wasted no time in getting started with the fun stuff. Head down to Mills Park sometime this weekend to enjoy the Nevada State Fair, Rendezvous and Carnival. Carson Valley Days is an annual tradition for those who live in the Minden/Gardnerville area.

Summer is holding on for dear life, and sending a miniature heat wave our way for this long weekend. For those of you not in Black Rock City, the Carson City region offers plenty of recreation and entertainment.

Fall colors are definitely not just in the trees but everything you see. Carson City is brimming with fabulous Autumn colors. These wildflowers were found Sunday along the walking paths in West Carson City. The Rabbit sagebrush blooms are beautiful too. Get out there and explore!

Carson Mall will host Nevada Day Festivities! Carson Mall will have our 3rd annual Craft Show, Rock Drilling, Best In The West Bloody Mary Contest with a cash prize, and Corn Hole Tournament.

The Friends of the Douglas County Library will host a two-day used book sale, Friday and Saturday, February 16-17, at the Minden Library, 1625 Library Lane, Minden. The sale will feature paperback and hardcover fiction and nonfiction books, childrens books, puzzles and more.

On Sunday, February 11, 2024, Capitol City Gun Club in Carson City, NV will host a Valentine’s Fun Shoot from 9:00am to 4:00pm. Target fees will be discounted with a limit of 200 targets per person. The Club is located at 3590 Arrowhead Drive. For more information call (775) 882-9904. Everyone is invited to come!

Every Tuesday evening, 5:30 to dusk, the Clear Creek Bowmen host their Tuesday Night Archery Shoots at the Centennial Park Archery Range. Both traditional and 3D targets are available. The target range is open shooting for use at no cost. There is a $5.00 fee (kids 17 and under are free) to shoot the 3D animal targets.
