Searchers recover body of man who drowned in Beltrami Co lake

Created: January 12, 2021 03:33 PM Searchers have recovered the body of a man who drowned in a Beltrami County Lake over the weekend. The Beltrami County Sheriff s Office says they were notified of a vehicle possibly going through the ice on Lake Irving around 1:00 Sunday afternoon.  Authorities responded to the scene and learned that a set of tire tracks had been located that led to a hole in the ice in an area known to have unstable ice. Authorities then began searching the area, and divers confirmed that a vehicle had been located below the ice. The sheriff s office says the man s body was located with the assistance of an underwater ROV (remotely operated vehicle), and recovered around 6:30 Monday night.
