The family of a university student killed in the Nottingham attacks have described their complete devastation at the senseless murder of our son.

Sky News has obtained a CCTV image of the suspect as he looked for a way into Seely Hirst House residential home. He was seen trying to climb in an open window but a resident woke up and punched him, sending him stumbling back to the ground.

Mr Coates was described as a "beloved and respected member of the Huntingdon Academy staff". He died in the early morning attacks in Nottingham, which also claimed the lives of 19-year-old students Grace Kumar and Barnaby Webber.

A woman has said she is "heartbroken" that one of the students killed in the Nottingham attack collapsed in her garden and died. The 31-year-old arrested on suspicion of murder remains in police custody. Watch coverage of the case live on Sky News in the stream below.
