Asbestos was discovered in two more School District of Philadelphia schools. Frankford High and Mitchell Elementary will be closed while the issue is examined. Mitchell's building is closed for the remainder of the year. School district records previously cleared both buildings of containing the toxin; officials expect testing to reveal asbestos in more school buildings.

Previously, both schools were cleared of asbestos.

Frankford High School and Mitchell Elementary are closed after inspectors found asbestos in both Philadelphia schools.

Mitchell Elementary and Frankford High have become the second and third district schools where inaccurate recordkeeping meant that asbestos-containing plaster was labeled safe for decades.
