About the New Mexico Co-Director (Organizing)
The New Mexico Co-Directors will have the opportunity to design and implement the WFP campaign philosophy that says, “We do with people what others do with money.” Traditional campaigns, whose goal is to simply win one election, hire temporary part-time canvassers, but when the election is over those canvassers are let go, leaving little permanent progressive infrastructure in the community. At WFP, we are building a movement rather than simply trying to win one election at a time. With this goal, we recruit volunteers, engage them on issues they care about, and provide them with training on how to knock on doors, conduct phone banks, and other community outreach tactics to effectively participate in campaigns. In this way, we develop a cadre of volunteers that can be re-engaged campaign after campaign.
