Mohawk River Basin Program News Today

GLOVERSVILLE — Approximately $50,000 will fund a flood mitigation study in Gloversville. The study, supported by the state Department of Environmental Conservation, will take a closer look at flood-proofing brownfields — post-industrial contamination sites — along the Cayadutta and Mill creeks.

The Research Foundation for the State University at New York Cobleskill will receive a grant for flood hazard risk reduction along Cobleskill Creek.

Oneida County officials believe they already are working on some of the issues laid out in the recently released Mohawk River Basin Action Agenda.
