Since 2014, the Open Space Institute has collaborated with the NYS Department of Parks, Recreation, and Historic Preservation to restore the historic carriage roads at Minnewaska State Park Preserve. The latest to be restored, the historic 2.8-mile High Point Carriage route restablishes access to parts of the park that haven't been reachable in decades, as well as connecting the Lake Minnewaska and Sam's Point visitor centers.
