More than 20 peregrine falcons have been re-released into the Shawangunk Mountains since 2020 through the efforts of the Open Space Institute.

In recent years, the Hudson Valley has seen a huge investment in the creation and redesign of mountain biking trails. Rather than a single large destination, the region has a network of smaller trail systems that offer options for everyone from beginner to advanced, technical mountain bikers.

The renovated Hubbard Perkins Loop Trail in Fahnestock State Park opened Monday. The park-enhancement effort was led by Open Space Institute.
