Students from Holy Ghost Lutheran School and St. Mary Catholic Central High School and area residents attended the first Michigan March of Life.

Many women feel as I do that we are breeding the mentality that a woman’s sole purpose in life is to be a human incubator – or a paid escort.

More than 200 attended Monroes Walk for Life. John Agubosim, a recent University of Toledo graduate, addressed the crowd.

The march, in its fifth year, aims to protect life in the womb. It will begin at St. Mary Church and is sponsored by lus Vitae Foundation.

Among the groups goals are to meet women in crisis pregnancies where they are and to educate and promote a culture of life among young people.

A rally, speakers and an emphasis on educating youth will highlight the 2023 Monroe Walk for Life May 13 in downtown Monroe.

The Monroe County Right to Life Board will host the meeting from 6 to 8 p.m. at Saleh’s Center of Hope, Suite 106, 14930 LaPlaisance Road.

A Prayer Vigil was held recently at St. Mary Catholic Church to mark Respect Life Sunday

Monroes Walk for Life is a fundraiser and effort to raise awareness and support for pro-life Pregnancy Centers in Monroe County.

"Every Step Counts" is the theme for this years Monroe Walk for Life. The fundraiser event includes speakers and a procession in downtown Monroe.
