LETTER - Lack of information through pandemic caused anxiety

A Generic stock photo of a little boy at nursery. See PA Feature FAMILY Expert Nursery. Picture credit should read: iStock/PA. WARNING: This picture must only be used to accompany PA Feature FAMILY Expert Nursery... We’re pleased to see plans for private, voluntary and independent nurseries to have access to testing announced in the Government’s roadmap out of lockdown. However, the early years are still being largely left out of the conversation and there has been little mention about the impact of the pandemic on young children who are extremely vulnerable to both the short and long-term consequences because of the critical stage they are at in their development.

Letters: Police should not alienate the public with heavy-handed enforcement

Credit: getty SIR – You report on the two women who were fined £200 by Derbyshire police after driving into the countryside for a walk with cups of coffee. A degree of common sense must be applied. Phil Coutie   SIR – Here in a Derby suburb on the edge of a local park, there is a stall selling coffee and soup and attracting large groups, yet there has not been a policeman in sight.
