Montreal Ring News Today

Downtown Montreal is transforming into a glowing open-air gallery this winter. The Esplanade at Place Ville Marie will feature life-sized sculptures of polar bears and penguins standing around the Montreal Ring through March 10, 2024.

In the world of fantasy, the arrival of a giant often signals extraordinary adventures on the horizon. This summer, fantasy and reality converge in Montreal, as the towering figure of Le GÉANT — a 50-foot steel colossus — comes to life. The enormous structure will draw viewers downtown and command eyes upward for a spectacle set against the city's skyline.

TikTok star Noah Beck is in Montreal for the first time and appears to be exploring the city with friends for his birthday. The 22-year-old influencer posted a brief video on May 4, standing in front of the iconic metal circle installation downtown.

It turned out the massive ring sculpture downtown is not a stargate, nor a massive sex toy, but a gigantic luminous display that will light up for the first time ever on September 14 at 7.30 p.m.To celebrate the 60th birthday of Place Ville-Marie, the stainless steel tube measuring 30 metres in diameter and representing "a gateway to the city centre" will finally feature soft lighting as first announced in April by Place Ville-Marie owner Ivanhoé Cambridge.
