The development comes in the wake of the Centre's constant endeavour of providing world-class health infrastructure across the country.

The Central government has accorded in-principal approval for the setting up of 21 greenfield airports across the country, said Minister of State in the Ministry of Civil Aviation Gen VK Singh on Thursday.

With 168 domestic flights, this will be IndiGos largest ever-new station launch and will immediately connect the new facility to eight cities across India, reports PTI.

Nine Greenfield airports - Durgapur, Shirdi, Kannur, Pakyong, Kalaburagi, Orvakal (Kurnool), Sindhudurg, Kushinagar, and Donyi Polo, Itanagar have been operationalized, reports ANI.

The LCC's offering from the soon-to-be-inaugurated GOX includes service to Delhi, Mumbai and Chennai.
