Wolfden wants Maine’s Land Use Planning Commission to change this zoning for a metallic mineral mine.

Wolfden Chase Mtn. LLC says that Pickett Mountain has the country’s largest undeveloped reserves of a type of ore that contains high-grade zinc and smaller but still commercially valuable amounts of copper, lead, silver and gold.

Wolfden Resources says that Pickett Mountain, located north of Patten, contains high-grade deposits of zinc, lead, copper, silver and gold.

Wolfden Resources' proposal for a mine just south of Patten will likely be the first test of a state law that opened the door for metal mining in the state.
