Bhopal, Apr 1 (PTI) Former Madhya Pradesh MLA and ex-BJP leader Laxman Tiwari joined the Congress here on Monday, hours after the opposition party saw another high-profile exit from its ranks in Chhindwara, the home district of former CM Kamal Nath.
Bhopal, Dec 11 (PTI) Three central observers of the BJP, including Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, reached Bhopal on Monday to take part in a meeting of the newly-elected party MLAs and decide on the next chief minister of the state.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has won 50 out of 82 seats reserved for Scheduled Tribes and Scheduled Castes in the Madhya Pradesh assembly polls, a 17-segment increase from the 2018 election. The BJP has expanded its base among the SC and ST communities in the state. However, Union minister Faggan Singh Kulaste lost the election. The BJP retained power in the state by winning 163 seats, relegating the Congress to a distant second with 66 seats.
