The Madhya Pradesh election this time appears a bit different for Budhni, which has been voting for the BJP s CM face for a long time, as the ruling party has fielded seven Lok Sabha members, including Union ministers Narendra Singh Tomar, Faggan Singh Kulaste and Prahlad Patel, and general secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya.
"He (Scindia) had not brought sizeable numbers (MLAs) in the last elections, but it was the Congress party which won that much," Singh told PTI in an interview on Thursday night when asked how his party will cope with the absence of Scindia.
"Congress always cries about empty coffers.. It used to say Behen tijori khali hai (sister, coffers are empty) while the BJP says Behen tijori tumahri hai (sister, coffers are yours)," Union minister Jyotiraditya Scindia said, speaking at a public meeting in support of BJP candidate Brajendra Yadav.
Since the implementation of the model code of conduct for the Madhya Pradesh assembly elections on October 9, enforcement agencies have seized various illicit items across the state. Chief Electoral Officer reported that a joint team has confiscated over Rs 25 crore in cash, 19.57 lakh liters of illegal liquor valued at Rs 36.99 crore, narcotic substances worth Rs 11.70 crore, as well as gold, silver, precious metals worth Rs 75.06 crore, and other materials valued at Rs 77.31 crore.
