The alert, valid till Saturday morning, came after parts of MP received light rain in the 24 hours ending 8.30 am.

The weather remained foggy in other districts, including Bhopal, Ujjain, Damoh, Malajkhand area in Balaghat, Khajuraho in Chhatarpur and Umaria in the morning.

Under the combined influence of these weather systems, unseasonal rains are likely over parts of Madhya Pradesh in a staggered manner. Rainfall belt will run across Bundelkhand region, covering Gwalior, Guna, Shivpuri, Datia and Tikamgarh, on 25th and 26th Jan

Rains will be shrinking in space and affect the southern parts of Madhya Pradesh including Hoshangabad, Betul, Chhindwara adjacent to Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada. Northern parts will not witness rainfall activities.

By October 13, activity will significantly reduce the most parts of the state and only Eastern in south-eastern parts of Madhya Pradesh may receive light rainfall activity for sometime. Weather of Madhya Pradesh will clear up completely by October 14 and Monsoon will also withdraw from most parts of the state by October 15 or 16.

This Low Pressure Area will give rain over East Madhya Pradesh today, i.e. September 20. Tomorrow, i.e. September 21, rains will be seen over East and Central Madhya Pradesh. On September 22nd, Northwest and Central parts of the state will see rains and the day after on September 23rd, Northwest Madhya Pradesh will see good rains.

Streams of water over roads and lanes had worsened the connectivity and hampered the relief work. However, weather will not play a spoilsport any further, for the rescue and rehabilitation work, undertaken by the disaster managing agencies.

Some major rivers in the state are in spate due to intermittent rainfall over the last couple of days, prompting the authorities to open sluice gates of some vital dams.
