The Committee of Baales and some residents of Ibeju Lekki, Lagos, have applauded the management of Dangote Refinery over its corporate social responsibility initiatives.

He said, “When they started the scholarship scheme for secondary and tertiary institution students, we thought they wouldn’t be able to sustain it, but they have continued to increase the numbers of beneficiaries every year and this is highly commendable.”

There was Lekki, a seashore of abundant fishes, aquatic splendour and comfortable fishing communities. Then came a seaport, a government-backed investment, at a cost to humans and the environment.
