Bissell said it’s received several reports of the vacuum smoking and giving off a burning smell, with a few instances of the battery catching fire.

BISSELL issued a recall of about 156,000 Multi Reach Hand and Floor Vacuum Cleaners after discovering the potential for a fire hazard. 

Vacuum manufacturer Bissell has recalled about 150,000 units sold in the United States and Canada over a fire hazard risk caused by the battery pack overheating.
