Mayor Andre Dickens revealed Thursday the locations of the planned new MARTA rail stations he announced last month during his State of the City address.

After announcing plans for four stations near the Beltline, Mayor Dickens signed an administrative order on April 11th to identify four locations.

Continued growth will transform metro Atlanta, and the Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC) projects 1.8 million new residents across the 21-county region by 2050.   The increase would bring the regional population to 7.9 million, but to accommodate that growth, Georgia Tech experts say improvements in the housing, transportation, and labor markets must be made.    

It would be the largest MARTA rail expansion in decades adding four new stops on existing lines in Atlanta.

The head of the transit agency broke down how these plans could move forward soon.
