Sheriff Troy D. Berry and the men and women of the Charles County Sheriff’s Office are pleased to announce that Captain Harry Ivers graduated from the FBI National Academy Session 288 on December 7. Captain Ivers was one of 198 fellow law enforcement executives who represented 45 states and the District of Columbia. The class also included members of law enforcement agencies from 24 countries, four military organizations, and six federal civilian organizations.

Charles County Sheriff’s detectives assigned to the Narcotics Enforcement Section have arrested and charged a suspect with manslaughter in connection with a fatal fentanyl overdose. On December 12, 2022, George Liddle Jr., age 20, died as a result of a fentanyl overdose in Marbury, MD.

On September 26, 2023, detectives assigned to the Narcotics Enforcement Section served a search and seizure warrant in the 2000 block of Amberleaf Place in Waldorf in connection with a drug investigation.

On Friday, February 11, 2022, at 5:44 a.m., members of the Narcotics Enforcement Section served a search warrant in the 100 block of Woodland Drive in Indian Head related to an ongoing drug distribution case.

On Tuesday, February 8, 2022, members of the Charles County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) Narcotics Enforcement Section served two search warrants in Waldorf as part of an investigation into drug distribution.
