Naropa University is building out its programming on psychedelic-assisted therapies as some states move to legalize them. The drugs are a growing area of academic interest. As research on psychedelic drugs grows, campus leaders at Naropa University hope to carve out a niche for their small Buddhist-influenced university in Colorado. The university is training health clinicians in psychedelic-assisted therapy, which they predict will become a burgeoning mental health practice in the state.

Naropa University is emerging as a leader in the new, evolving field of psychedelics by being one of the first universities to offer training in the field and by playing a major role in what's called "the largest psychedelic gathering in history" this week in Denver.

Naropa University's class of 2023 was honored at Saturday afternoon's spring commencement ceremony. Earners of master's and bachelor's degrees were recognized.
