In an open letter issued by the KwaZulu-Natal House of Traditional Leaders on behalf of amakhosi, the KwaZulu-Natal House of Traditional Leaders called on King Misuzulu to first respond to the concerns which were raised by amakhosi about how the Ingonyama Trust was being managed.

In a new twist in the battle for the Zulu throne, King Misuzulu has appointed a prime minister and deputy prime minister of the Zulu nation while the courts are still mulling over the legitimacy of his claim to the throne.

Royal watchers say the announcement of the Ingonyama Trust board marks the formal end of the relationship between the king and Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi.
