An Illinois man whose body was pulled from a Chicago-area waterway amid a startling trend of water deaths was found to have drowned, though the manner in which he died was ruled “undetermined."

Chicago Police have been quick to play down the claims, but family members of some of the deceased have hired their own private investigators to probe the losses.
