The events for the 83rd anniversary of the Battle of Crete, organised by the Coordinating Council for the Memory of the Battle of Crete and the Rest of Greece, were successfully completed.

The Hellenic Armed Forces are in Australia for the 83rd Anniversary of the Battle of Crete and this past Thursday they visited the Greek Centre.

This year's '25 March' Greek National Day parade and event will be the last to be organised under the presidency of Antonis Tsourdalakis. The Melbourne parade will occur on Sunday, April 14, at 1:00 pm at Lakeside Stadium, Albert Park.

A special ceremony was held at the Nurses Memorial in Melbourne on April 25 to commemorate the nurses who also sacrificed their lives during World War I. Ms. Spanou laid a wreath paying tribute to these heroines, recognizing their selfless service.

Several schools have already started rehearsals and are preparing for the parade, which will open with over 50 drummers from the Greek community's day schools.
