CARMI — The Carmi-White County school board Monday voted down a proposed $434,500 bid to bring air conditioning to the high school/junior high gymnasiums.

Issues with a machine at the White County courthouse delayed results Tuesday night. Voter turnout was dismal however throughout the region. In Hamilton County, only 18.6% of eligible voters turned out. Officials with County Clerk Heather Bowman's office said 1,025 ballots were cast out of a possible 5,512.
