Former NCB zonal director Sameer Wankhede on Friday moved the vacation bench of the Bombay High Court seeking no coercive action against him in the Aryan Khan drugs and extortion case.

The Delhi court has provided interim protection to Wankhede till May 22 and has asked him to move the court in Mumbai. On the basis of the interim protection, Wankhede did not appear before the CBI on Thursday.

The CBI had summoned Wankhede for questioning on Thursday in connection with alleged demand of Rs 25 crore from Shah Rukh Khan for not implicating his son Aryan Khan in the Cordelia cruise drug bust case

Sameer Wankhede, the former anti-drugs official who arrested Aryan Khan, the son of actor Shah Rukh Khan, in a drugs case, had made multiple trips abroad with his family and owned vast property disproportionate to his income, says a report by NCB.

In Wankhede’s case, the entire issue revolves around the Rs 25 crore allegedly demanded from actor Shah Rukh Khan, to protect his son Aryan from arrest, after the latter was caught in a raid on the Cordelia cruise ship by the NCB.

Former Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) zonal director Sameer Wankhede on Friday moved a petition before the Bombay High Court seeking quashing of an FIR filed against him by the CBI for allegedly demanding Rs 25 crore bribe from superstar Shah Rukh Khan for not implicating his son Aryan Khan in the Cordelia cruise drug bust case

The CBI as charged Sameer Wankhede and others for alleged criminal conspiracy and threat of extortion, and bribery under the Prevention of Corruption Act on a complaint by the NCB.

The Central Bureau of Investigation filed an FIR against Sameer Wankhede based on the NCB's report. He is protected from arrest until May 22.

Earlier in the day, Wankhede had moved Bombay HC requesting the quashing of the FIR against him by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI)..

Wankhede has been booked by the CBI on allegations that he demanded ₹25 crore for not framing Aryan Khan in the cruise ship drugs case.
