Frankfort officials say crews are still working to restore power to many people in Clinton County.

The Des Plaines Community Foundation, Sysco Chicago and Sunrise Grill all worked together to provide and deliver Thanksgiving Day dinners. As a result, more than 260 individuals, homebound seniors and people with disabilities had a very happy Thanksgiving.

The Des Plaines Community Foundation recently donated $30,000 to local food pantries and charities this September for the holidays. The donations were split between seven area food pantries, charity organizations and the St. Zachary Backpack Project for school kids.

The idea was launched by neighbors who thought this project would show the neighborhood’s support for Ukraine.
