Queensland detectives have charged a Brisbane man over a 1999 bank robbery and the shooting of a responding police officer, which had been Australiaâs only unsolved police shooting.
A 49-year-old man will appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court on Wednesday charged with 13 offences including attempted murder and deprivation of liberty.

It will be alleged two men - wearing off-white plastic masks, surgical-style gloves and carrying two-way radios - forced entry to the bank and held staff and customers at gunpoint.

Detectives are confident of more arrests in the near future over what was described as Australiaâs only unsolved police shooting - the 1999 robbery of a Logan bank and the shooting of a Queensland police officer.
He was charged with 13 offences and appeared in Brisbane Magistrates Court on Wednesday. He was remanded in custody to reappear in the same court on February 8.
The man has been charged with two counts of attempted murder, seven counts of deprivation of liberty, three counts of violent armed robbery and one count of unlawful use of a motor vehicle.
