We should at least remember her role as a major warmonger." Be bringing that to the worlds attention if we knew about those stories. just because shes white and a celebrity is really no reason to lose compassion. if i can also just jump in and say, though, there are a lot of people on the right who are not getting half the attention of nir rosen who have said some despicable things. there is a whole wave of people who are basically blaming logan for what happened to her because she dared to go report on islam rather than treating it as this sexist, bruta...

I can only assume you meant a sexual assault because i had already been roughed up. so you did know there was a sexual assault involved? >> at the time i didnt know that. ive been in the middle east and not really with much access to information and i just assumed you were roughed up, and she was roughed up a bit more. its not justifiable -- whether it was roughed up, its wrong. had i known it was a sexual assault, theres no laughing matter, especially for a man. and theres no excuse for it. the...

Joan, when you first heard what nir rosen had said, what did you make of it? >> well, i thought it was horrible, anderson, and i assumed that he was making light of a sexual assault since i had read the cbs short story as well, and it was pretty clear what happened. so im not going to call him a liar. only he knows what he knew. by it was incredibly insensitive. and talking sexual assault aspect, to be mocking someone you dont like who has been injured and mistreated, i would rather think that w...

Talking to hundreds of thousands of people. >> in your defense, subsequent to this, youve said in a couple articles, "i heard that ms. logan was roughed up like many other journalists. i did not realize it was something more serious." thats hard to believe reading your first two tweets. you clearly knew, it seems, what happened to her was sexual. you said she had to outdo me, so clearly you knew i had been punched a couple of times or roughed up a little bit. so you knew the attack on her was wo...

Informed? you can decide for yourself. i spoke with nir rosen earlier tonight from the middle east. nir, how do you explain your tweets? >> i dont have an explanation. i was a jerk. 2:00 in the morning and i was being thoughtless, forgetting that i wasnt just talking to a couple of people but i was talking to hundreds of thousands of people. >> in your defense, subquemts to this, youve said in a couple articles, "i heard that ms. logan was roughed up. i did not realize it was something more seri...

And then you actually did link to the cbs news article that was very clear about the nature of her assault and the fact she was in a hospital? >> yeah, it doesnt look good. but, no, i didnt read the article, and i apologize to her and to women everywhere. theres just no excuse for what i did. ive ruined an eight-year record of taking risks in defense of justice in my own career and people. and embarrassed myself and my family. >> nir rosen, i appreciate you being on the program. >> thanks. >> ag...

Very different reaction. he made jokes on twitter about logans attack. normally we wouldnt pay attention, but hes a journalist who has reported extensively from iraq and a teacher at new york university. he had a fellowship at new york university center of law on law and security. hes now stepped down from his fellowship. rosen has now apologized for his numerous offensive tweets but he continues to claim he did not know at the time that logan was sexually assaulted. numerous facts, however, see...

So we will need to make return visit. >> nic robertson, appreciate it. he was continuing to report, so we hope hes okay. keeping them honest now on the sickening attack on reporter lara logan. were not talking about the assault that she suffered on friday. were talking about an online attack on her made yesterday by an american journalist and fellow at new york university. heres what happened. yesterday, cbs news released a statement and this picture revealing on friday in cairo, lara logan, the...
