In almost every case, the police claim that the person was shot as he tried to snatch service weapons or was trying to escape custody.

He was speaking at felicitation program here in Guwahati, where he mentioned that the punishment for the guilty should have been processed legally, however, it didnt.

As per reports, Niraj Das tried to escape from the moving police jeep, in which he was escorted to the location where he has been operating his illegal drug trade.

His bereaved mother who has been crying and crying since the incident told media that the death of Niraj gave her some solace.

The prime accused of the November 29 Jorhat lynching case, the Chief Minister also said that he died while trying to flee from police custody.

Niraj died while trying to flee from police custody on Tuesday night. Some of his family members wept when his body reached home.
